Statement
My name is Dr. Evelyn Kestrel. I am an astrophysicist and mathematician at the Wyman Lab, Wheelock University.
The Wyman Threshold Survey began because instruments in several disciplines kept recording events at the edge of what they were designed to measure.
Most were ordinary. Calibration drift. Software error. Thermal noise. Human expectation.
A few were not.
The remaining cases behaved as though information had crossed a boundary without enough energy to explain how.
That is what we mean by a threshold.
Not necessarily a doorway. A condition under which two systems that should be separate begin to influence one another.
The Survey studies those conditions across astronomy, mathematics, networks, and cognition. We begin conservatively. Repeat the measurement. Change the instrument. Blind the observer. Remove interference, suggestion, fatigue, and memory contamination.
Only then do we consider less familiar models.
Nonlocal correlation.
Topological failure.
Information arriving from an adjacent physical history.
Some threshold events include spatial effects: rooms measuring differently from their plans, routes that fail to repeat, or witnesses disagreeing about doors and corridors. We do not assume hidden worlds behind the walls. Architecture distorts perception, and frightened minds are excellent storytellers.
But when independent instruments register the same discrepancy, geometry becomes part of the evidence.
The Mirror Home entered the Survey by accident.
Their website appeared in a comparison of public data with archived network records. Nothing about it looked impossible. The code was ordinary. The files had plausible histories. The music and artwork included expected signs of AI-assisted production.
Those markers were useful. We could identify them, subtract them, and test what remained.
Something remained.
A low-amplitude structure appeared in the artwork, mastered audio, and certain timing records. It did not follow the software or file format.
It followed the contributor.
Material from Derek Hoffman carried one statistical background. Material from Mei Ting carried another.
When they collaborated, both remained.
There are conventional explanations: undocumented processing, shared material, bias in our controls. We continue to test them.
But the residuals resemble features in cosmological-background data, and their orientation does not match the sky observed from Wheelock University.
They are not maps of another universe.
They are closer to fingerprints left by different boundary conditions.
Multiverse models do not require dramatic alternate worlds. Two histories may differ by one decision, one death, one storm arriving a day later. Most of reality could remain nearly identical while the consequences spread outward.
The evidence suggests The Mirror Home may be exchanging information across two such histories.
Not through a machine.
Through the ordinary act of making music together.
That is where the research became personal.
At first, I treated the songs as containers for data. Then I listened to them.
They return to memory, distance, places that feel almost right, and relationships that survive despite incompatible versions of the past.
That may be coincidence.
Or the musicians may be describing the pressure of the boundary before they understand it.
In related Wyman cases, threshold exposure appears to affect orientation, memory, and identity. People may remember events that did not occur locally, or recognize places they have never visited. A few report figures near the edge of an event—observers, pursuers, perhaps only fear taking a familiar form.
The evidence is not strong enough for me to name them.
So I will not.
A good theory must explain the facts without demanding that we love it.
The releases also resist separation. When audio, images, notes, and dates are isolated, some correlations weaken. When the website is restored, they return.
That is why the Archive preserves the site as a living witness copy.
And that is why an astrophysicist is studying a band.
Music is structured information carried by people. It survives translation, crosses distance, and preserves emotion better than most instruments.
If two realities were touching gently enough to avoid catastrophe, but deeply enough to exchange meaning, music might be exactly the kind of structure that could pass between them.
I find that unsettling.
I also find it hopeful.
