Nothing in the image announces itself as important. That is partly why it matters. It resurfaced during work on Light I Couldn't Hold more than two decades later and restored one small, specific piece of a journey that memory had otherwise begun to compress.

WTS A.2 / Baseline. Artifact 001.03 is preserved as a genuine travel photograph. That matters because much later media in the Archive has passed through contemporary tools, exports, or synthetic production chains. A record like this gives the Survey a cleaner baseline: a place, a date, a photographed animal, and a physical moment that existed before the current processing layer.
